UVEX Sports Bicycle Helmet Recall

UVEX Sports is recalling bicycle helmets because the helmets’ chinstraps can fail to work properly when both ends are fastened together. Because the chinstrap doesn’t work that means the helmet can fall off of your head and this would possibly cause a bicycle accident, traumatic brain injury, and even worse a wrongful death lawsuit. Additionally, the helmets do not comply with the impact requirements of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission safety standards for bicycle equipment.

In order to discover if your helmet was one of the recall to items look inside the helmet under the fitting pad on the top right side. The affected helmet model numbers are XB017, XB025, XB022, XB027, XB032, XBO36, and XBO38. The helmets were sold nationwide and specialty bicycle shops and retail sporting goods stores from September 2009 through June 2014.
